2018 — Collaborative Project with Bahareh Mirhadi

This project was developed in collaboration with Bahareh Mirhadi and evolved around the experience of distance, control, and the possibility of connection under conditions of geographical separation.
The process was shaped both by our familial relationship and by restrictions that disrupted the possibility of presence and movement. At a certain point, the rejection of a visa application and the impossibility of physical participation transformed distance from a personal condition into a structural part of the project itself.
The work took form through conversation, memory, image, and performance—an attempt to maintain connection within a situation where administrative and political structures rendered direct presence impossible. In this context, control entered the process not only as a subject but as a lived experience.
Rather than presenting a fixed narrative, the project focused on states of suspension, waiting, and fragile forms of communication—a relationship forced to continue through distance, surveillance, and limitation.
